[Far far too early in the morning Lahabrea wakes up with a little start, something being fundamentally different. A great weight off his shoulders that has him lifting his hands to look at them, breathing slowly, just kind of settling into himself.

He feels so light and giddy in comparison to before. Though this is his normal baseline it is such a relief he feels like he could float right now. Like he might start laughing and not stop.

Which is why he's turning on his side and running his fingers through Emet-Selch's hair, both pleasant and meant to wake him, gently attempting to coax him out of sleep.]

[He holds him a little tighter with the arm slung around Lahabrea's waist. He garbles something unintelligible but does slit open his eyes. A reflex just in case Lahabrea does need anything.]

[He plays with Emet's hair, smiling at those barely opened eyes, looking generally far too energetic and delighted for the time of day.]

Good morning.

[Please, every empress he had probably had to wake him up. Don't judge.

He just buries his head into Lahabrea's neck with a bit of a muffled purr.]

You're energetic.

[He's far too peppy to judge. Today, at least.

He runs his fingers through Emet's hair, petting him as he buries his face.]

I am feeling much improved.

[That gets him to pull his head up staring at his face hard.]

Has the effects worn off?

[He smirks! Quite pleased but also deeply relieved.]

Yes. It appears it has.

[He wraps his arms around his neck and holds him close.]

Thank goodness. 'Twas painful to see you in such misery.

[He scratches lightly at the back of Emet-Selch's neck.]

I can well imagine. I do think it high time I whisked you away for a day of relaxation, in fact.

Excellent.

[He reaches across him placing all of his weight on him to push him back down like a very large body pillow and resting on top of him.]

[He makes a vaguely squished noise and what is he to do but go with it, arms wrapping around Emet-Selch.]

I take it I am to be your pillow until a more reasonable hour?

Truly, I could go the rest of nigh eternity without watching your form shake like that. Allow me my moment of reveling.

[Oh no. Well, he does expect this relief, it is the same as his own. Only Emet-Selch had to watch and in some ways that is always worse.

He cups Emet's cheeks and kisses his forehead.]

How could I deny you anything?

'Tis simple. You simply string two letters together, n and o.

[He smiles against his skin though.]

Goodness, I was worried they'd think to fill the void left by His Grace with some other corruption. I would not put it past them.

As simple as that? And all this time I thought there was an arcane trick to it. I shall have to start denying you immediately.

[He absolutely will not be. He runs his fingers through Emet's hair, pressing his face to the top of his head and closing his eyes, exhaling in contentment.]

Well, for a mercy we have both been spared that.

It appears I can still teach you a trick or two, old man.

[He holds him tightly, fingers digging painfully into his back for a brief moment before he realizes it.]

First things first is you should actually eat properly. Not the nibbling and gawking you've been giving food of late.

[He doesn't complain about the hold, running his fingers down Emet's back, gentle up and down along his spine.]

I will. I will make breakfast when you feel you wish to move. And ere you fuss further, I shall ensure I redouble my efforts at looking after my health to make up for the last few days of languor.

[He sighs content arching into the touch just a little.]

I suppose I can expunge the last few days of your record. Neither you or I expected this.

[He props up an elbow finally.]

Well, congratulations, you've finally given me a reason to get out of bed. Up you go.

A momentous occasion indeed.

[He sits up, kissing Emet-Selch on the temple before sliding from bed.]

Any requests?

You are the one with the large appetite. At least, I would hope. Surprise me.

Do you need company?

Only if you wish it. It is a rare opportunity where I am offering to bring you breakfast while you lounge in bed, however.

[He considers it for a moment before he swings his legs over the edge of the bed.]

As much as you've been craving my presence as of late, the reverse is also true. I do feel a little isolated when I am not at your side.

Then I welcome your company.

[He offers his hand to tug Emet fully out of bed.]

[Being tugged to his feet he does scratch down Lahabrea's back lightly before following him into the kitchen.

And surprisingly he does get on the side of the counter that looks like he'll actually be helping.]

[He gives him an amused look as he starts to get out things for pancakes. Stopping when the ingredients are assembled and turning to reach up and cup Emet-Selch's cheeks.]

Can't stay far from me, can you?
