[He picks up his own plate and joins Emet, and why not, he steals a bite from his plate. He can act young if he wants!]

I do. For some reason or other, all your antics do endear you to me.

Then everyone wins. How delightful.

[He does watch him carefully while he eats. He's still worried after all.]

An outing, you said. I know I gave vague suggestions about wind and the ocean, but I do mean it when I say I would like to get out. This place can get stuffy and dark after all.

[He is not unaware he's being watched but look, he is eating normally, without picking at his food. He even wags his fork at Emet after a bite.]

I know you will be hovering but I assure you I am as well as I have ever been. Out sounds good though. I was thinking in the evening but we could go shortly and find somewhere shaded if you prefer. I would spend the day in your company, the location matters less to me. But a change of scene can be invigorating. On the beach or near it somewhere you can nap perhaps.

Perhaps not ever been, but you'll get there. And the time does not matter. I do have an umbrella for the occasion, gifted by Wildfire. While it is uncomfortable, I do still enjoy the sun.

Though perhaps we should consider getting our own mode of transportation after a fashion. Public transportation can only get one so far.

...I suppose I could purchase a vehicle.

[He tosses Emet his phone pick something out.]

[Setting the phone down.]

But I already have as a gift. Though I was going to wait until later for the surprise, but there never seems to be time. Shall I show it to you after we eat?

[He looks surprised already!]

Certainly. I'm quite curious now.

... Only if you eat everything on your plate of course. And I will adhere to my own rule as well.

Do not treat me as a child to bribe for eating all my vegetables.

But I will clean my plate to ease your worry. And pack us lunch before we head out as well.

[He leans over and gives him a kiss to the temple.]

My apologies on taking the joke too far. I do not actually believe that you would falter in taking care of yourself.

No. I apologize as well. I've more than earned the teasing. I am merely sensitive because worrying you truly shall always sit badly with me, I think. I do not enjoy having caused you stress. It makes me feel as if I have greatly failed you.

[He reaches over, tucking Emet's hair behind an ear.]

Pray forgive a grumpy old man his wounded pride.

Since your arrival, you have done nothing but brighten my day even though I do fuss. You relieve me of stress, Lahabrea.

[Taking a moment to lean against his shoulder.]

Imagine how much of a mess I would be in were you not here to help me plan, to soothe me when the scions will not come to compromise, to know when I am weary and spend time with me as you are now.

You have not failed me. Quite the opposite.

[He sighs, returning the lean and reaching over to take Emet's hand, twine their fingers.]

And I would be insufferable without you.

Still, you will have to put up with the fact that I believe I am more shaken than I first thought. And I do dislike it. Ever and always have I relied on you, so I will assume you will manage to suffer through me doing so once more. As long as you continue to lean on me as well I will weather all complaints and teasing somehow. Perhaps grumpily.

You were untempered Lahabrea. The strain on your soul beyond compare. All considered, you are doing better than I imagined.

[He squeezes his fingers back.]

I will always lean on you. That was never in question. Besides sometimes as my complaining can be endearing, so can your grumpy behavior.

Why should I require time to recover when there are things to be doing?

[The exaggerated tone and extra grump do mean he's self aware. It is just the worst. Having emotions that require normal things like processing and whatnot. He grumbles and lifts their hands, kissing the back of Emet's.]

But as ever you are correct. I do appreciate your fuss, now and again.

[Most of the time, it's cute, like a cat meowing for attention.]

[He does blush lightly at that and covers it up with a complaint.]

I felt the scheming necessary for one reason or other.

[The blush is cute and he smirks, but he does release the hand, with a little squeeze.]

I do tend to need to be busy but I have been attempting to relax more. You make it seem effortless but in fact it is quite challenging.

[He does pat his arm before tucking in breakfast.]

Truthfully I have no doubts that you will take care of yourself now. Ever have you proven yourself. If you need to scheme more to busy your moments, by all means. As I said I might fuss, but I won't truly worry.

Ah but now it its a challenge. I am learning many new skills. And if I cannot leave hell with the ability to nap or lounge away half a century, am I even being productive?

[He's being ridiculous. And he does return to munching.]

Would you not be worried about missing out on a few things. A half demon with tail and wings --- who is still in trouble by the way --- for example.

Besides, where would I shirk my duties if not to you?

Of course he is in trouble. But you are right, I would hardly wish to miss the mortal lifespan he might have.

Very well, I shall simply learn to watch stars instead. And we may both shirk our duties to Five.

[He picks up his plate when he's done and Lahabrea's if he's finished.]

[He is done, letting Emet-Selch take the plate.]
