Seriously though he is, well, absolutely enthralled with it.
And it does not escape him the time and trouble to make such a thoughtful gift. He does have to press his face to the metal neck a moment, overcome with a myriad of feelings, quiet for a while as he strokes the creature's neck.]
I suppose the best thing to do would be to try it out, wouldn't you say?
[He contemplates objecting if he can't have Emet-Selch ride with him! But on the other hand, just a short test? It would be rather ungracious to refuse to show his keen enthusiasm for the gift, so he takes the help up.]
In that case we may still purchase a more roomy mode of transport. I will leave that to your selection.
[He is urging the mechapony out of the stall to trot out into the open air.]
[It's a machine and does as told. Emet-Selch follows him out.]
Can you even drive a car?
[He pats Lahabrea's leg and truth be told he's smiling a little more warmer than normal, pleased that that the gift is enjoyed.]
Off you go. Though I suppose my nefarious plot to keep you occupied so you do not encroach in my territory of the one of us not being a workaholic might be a little see through.
I am sure I could learn. It would not avail us this outing but it cannot be that different from any other vehicle.
[He is in fact just absolutely delighted though, even as he reaches down and brushes his fingers through Emet's hair. Taller than him for once! You know. On a horse.]
Yes yes it is a nefarious and dastardly scheme. And I am most grateful for it.
[But he nudges the horse forward, into a little trot then canter, let's see how this baby flies!]
I daresay you might have a little fun. But don't worry, I've ensured there is a lesson to all this when you are done.
[What is physics in Imeeji, it just does! It takes little effort for the machine to become airborne, even hover a little in the air as it beats its wings. Though it probably does sound a little like a helicopter.
Emet does give a little half wave from below on ground.]
Procuring the right parts was probably the most difficult, and I did not do the majority of the crafting work. Bereft we may be of our abilities, there is still ample opportunity to Create.
For what we strive for is moments just like this. For us. For our friends. Our loved ones.
[He takes his hand and seats himself behind him wrapping his arms around his waist and kissing his neck.]
Even more so when we consider our two new best friends have not the opportunity to have such moments.
[This may not be quite riding into the sunset on a white horse. No, this is better, this is trotting to the seaside on a mechanical pegasus!! He does turn the machine beast for the nearest coastline. And off they go.]
You are correct of course. Being able to take joy in life is what we strive for ultimately.
Sometimes I get... too focused on getting there I forget what the destination even is. It is lucky I have you to remind me.
[He leans back just a little, a gentle bump against Emet.]
Thank you. I do adore it.
[As much for being a thoughtful gift as for what it actually is.]
[He lifts a hand to brush his fingers over the back of Emet's hand before he drops it to return to steering.]
I enjoy myself in your company. But the new steed is thrilling I admit. If this is what you get up to when bored perhaps I should let you grow bored more often.
Does it now? I wonder just how many languages you have picked up over time. Speaking of, I'm teaching Five ours. I know the two of you still study so perhaps you could lecture partially in it.
Do not scoff at me so. You enjoy puzzles and new questions to solve.
[He closes his eyes just enjoying being close to him.]
I'll give you the schematics if you would like to build another, but it will require the help of Future is Now. I imagine you can improve upon the design.
[Emet-Selch at his back relaxing and content is in fact the best part of this. They're getting close to the coast so he's lifting his head to look around for an empty building with a good looking rooftop view.]
I would love the design. Though there are other things I'd ask of that unit. You said Intensity is the one who built this?
[He does hold on tightly with one arm as requested. With the other he does trace Lahabrea's lower back. When he does find the spot with scales him might, just might be scraping his nails over them through cloth.]
[Don't distract the guy flying the pegasus! Or do. He yelps, jumping a little, so it's good Emet has an arm around him keeping him still. The pegasus does veer before he steadies course.]

Re: Day 275
I would recommend a solo test. As I said the original vehicle was made for one. Though now I do see my oversight in not getting a pair.
[He will come over and help him up on the horse.]

Re: Day 275
Well. You have outdone yourself.
Re: Day 275
[He does reach up and put a hand on his lower back. Look how tall you are now, sir!]
And such a brilliant smile.
Re: Day 275
[He leans down and kisses him on the forehead, but he does pull back and offer his hand.]
We may not be able to fly but I believe she should be well able to support us on the ground.

[He leans into him brushing his thumbs along his stomach where his hands are joined.]
You are most welcome.

I think I shall call her Dorea.
Re: Day 275
[He leans his head on his shoulder.]
Dorea?
Re: Day 275
[He'd have learned of course. And he tilts his head lightly to press his cheek to Emet's head.]
Gift.
[His naming sense is still bad.]
Re: Day 275
[He laughs holding him a bit tighter.]
Does it now? I wonder just how many languages you have picked up over time. Speaking of, I'm teaching Five ours. I know the two of you still study so perhaps you could lecture partially in it.
Re: Day 275
[He is in good spirits.]
Languages? All of them, naturally. But very well. I shall conduct his lessons half in our tongue. See if he can keep up.

Re: Day 275
What are you looking for?
Yes, it was Intensity.
Re: Day 275
Re: Day 275
[And he does lightly tap the pegasus with the heel of his boot.]
It shouldn't dump us both on the ground for such a short flight, but if it does, well, at least I have one friend among the healers.
Re: Day 275
[Up they go, and Lahabrea urges the pegasus high enough to get a good vantage on seeing which roof looks nice enough to land on.]

Re: Day 275
