[His dream may be somewhat familiar landscape, part of the underworld, a massive lake of blood, stretching out as far as the eye can see. It's littered with gravestones and stone pillars, of an ancient Greek sort of design, but all are fallen and smashed. The pillars seem to hang in the sky too, as if from a ceiling, and several great marble statues the size of skyscrapers lie in the lake, toppled over and broken. They look like angels, with their feathered wings.
Vergil's already fighting a pack of lizard-like demons, they're fast, and teleport around to try to attack him from behind, but he has the same trick.]
[Sorry about your suit but it could be worse, the tails of Vergil's very un-Taisho coat are soaked and spray it all about whenever he moves. The way he teleports isn't dissimilar from Five's abilities, but although he's unnaturally fast himself, it's the sword that does it. That speed makes it a short fight, even though he doesn't move any more than strictly necessary.
After wiping the sword clean, he turns to Emet Selch.]
[Though he doesn't really care about the answer as he approaches and stares at him.
What is the state of your soul, Vergil?
The 'Sight' gives him to the power to view souls, and each soul has a unique color that is almost like a fingerprint. He can't tell a person's personality or emotions from their soul.]
[Funny you should ask because that's exactly what was on his mind.
Any colour or shapes would take after his true, demon form. The state of it has been returned to how it was before Raven was created, but that still isn't whole. More than just half a soul, but bits and pieces were ripped from him by others long before. Fractured after excessive trauma, too. It's definitely Not Good.]
[It's a thing to marvel at, and for a man who normally towers over others (even if not to Alexander's extent), being so small next to everything could almost be humbling.]
It is. Our esteemed Speaker has been helping me refine it. He remembers details I do not as loathe as I am to admit.
Ah, but we should get to business, should we not? You asked about your soul. I could describe it to you in painful detail, but, well, somethings are better shown.
[He snaps his fingers again and Vergil will be able to see his own soul. Thus is the super convenient power of dreams after all.
Along with this he may or may not notice two other things. Above them far into the sky is a stream of colors all blending together. If he focuses intently, he will be able to pick out each individual color in the mass of the lifestream. It does coil and bend and move like fluid water surrounding the entire star.
The second is that Emet-Selch's soul is actually two toned, a primary with another color coiling around it.]
What do you think? Your soul is a little unusual and ... missing a few pieces, but considering the one on Zrael....
[He's one to observe, to take everything in and think it over himself first before saying anything. In particular to compare his and Emet-Selch's. He doesn't know how it works, they might be so different just because they're different types of beings. Lahabrea told him of the voidsent, maybe his state is similar to them somehow, just corrupted by demonic blood?]
...Raven is the entirety of my human self, he should be half my soul. I think? I can't say I know how it works, exactly. But...either way I'm meant to have been whole again.
When it comes to all of creation, souls are unique. Only they have the sole exception of being created by either magic or technology.
You split willingly, did you not? If the memory is to be believed. Though souls were never meant to be fragmented in such a way though at least yours was done quiet specifically. I would be curious to see if you retained all of your memories or were they lost or shared between you.
I should point out, the Raven here might not be the Raven you know. This place has proven that multiple timelines can exist in tandem. A thought in case you do seek to regain what was lost.
I split willingly from him, but he wasn't exactly in agreement. Half the point of it was to be rid of my memories, so he must have been given all, or nearly all of them.
...Would regaining what was lost even be possible now? Here?
It's all a matter of negotiation, is it not? If you can believe they can do it, you simply have to convince them it is in their best interests.
But I agree, 'tis not to be taken lightly.
To answer your earlier question, however, if I had enough time, both parts of your soul, and my abilities, I probably could rebind them. It was ever my specialty.
I'm sure he'd have a few objections. Though I am curious, despite your lack of memories caused by the Production, how do you feel less whole in other aspects?
[He blinks.]
I wonder which it is. He either told you a lot. Or you actually bothered to listen. Perhaps a bit of both.
Besides my memories? I'm lacking socially, emotionally, and in everyday skills. But I don't feel as if I'm incomplete.
[He stops for a moment to think, looking up at the colours in the sky]
He didn't exactly tell me whether you were trying to fix them, but I can connect the dots. It was obvious how much it troubled him, and I don't see him as the kind of person who would just accept it.
Though I do think I should say, as much as I feel he was quite open with me, I know there was more being held back. You might want to be careful what you say - I, at least, don't want to mislead you into casually saying more. To go behind his back to find out what he doesn't want to reveal. He has given me an ounce of trust and I don't intend to betray it.
I can't even say that is due to the state of your soul as much as your upbringing.
[He taps his chin.]
Then I will be careful not to add to your array of knowledge regarding our circumstances. Though truly I doubt he would mind, but I will respect your wishes.
Though if we are doing away with pretenses, you may call me Emet-Selch.
Now, you should feel as if you have all your abilities? That was the point?
248 night

Re: 248 night
He's wearing his BARiTONES outfit and looking around. He grimaces a little at the lake of blood. But then he sets his sights on Vergil.
He doesn't approach, yet, merely observes his fighting ability.]

Thanks for coming.

Please do, I'm not exactly fond of it.
Re: 248 night
But if Lahabrea likes Vergil enough, he'll skip that and go to something nicer.
He'll find himself in this city where everything seems is twice too tall with shades walking about.
He bows.]
Welcome to Amaurot.

However, if you believe the allure of graduation, your options are to return home or a wish.
