[He did not claim to be smart, only reckless and up for revenge murder. And anyway, he might not know Emet-Selch nearly as well, but he's important to Lahabrea. That makes up for it.]

No, I only know of a reluctant truce, not the details.

Instead of trying to race each other to our goals --- a bloodletting the entire way, we've come to an agreement. Considering the possibility of multiple timelines, one each the other will give. One timeline for each to have our wishes granted.

...Are you really satisfied with that? I suppose you must be a more reasonable person than I am, but I wouldn't be.

I'm not arrogant enough to believe I could save them all. A thousand thousand lifetimes we have toiled, and yet still we have not reached our goal. And of three, only one remains.

How could I risk it when another path might lie ahead?

Well, this the best path forward for now. Whose to say I won't get bored after saving one, and continue to scheme and plot again.

A good point, you can always carry on afterward. Although you might earn a rest first.

Work ethic. Keeping busy. While it does not tell all, it is a good indicator.

Hm. Well I don't think my way of keeping busy, or the things I work at, will look very much like Valour or Lahabrea. Maybe more like yourself.

I can only assume of course, but I imagine you're just as much of a dedicated person as any of is, or you wouldn't have worked at your goal for so long. You must also assume different identities, you did tell me of an empire, I would guess that you spent a lifetime as that man, in character the entire time. You may even have moved to a different member of the family when the first became too old. Certainly there would be plenty of time within a life for leisure. But you would have to be working all the same. Studies may be more tangible, but it makes that no less effort.

Somehow of the three of us I ended up being the shining example of charisma. Or at least persuasion. But you are correct, I do my duty to the best of my abilities and have been successful more times than not.

But as much as I grouse, I am equally as dedicated to the cause as my peers. Ever in tandem do we strive.

You have a different sort of charisma. Perhaps not a leader, but dependable. Calculating.
