[It's a thing to marvel at, and for a man who normally towers over others (even if not to Alexander's extent), being so small next to everything could almost be humbling.]
It is. Our esteemed Speaker has been helping me refine it. He remembers details I do not as loathe as I am to admit.
Ah, but we should get to business, should we not? You asked about your soul. I could describe it to you in painful detail, but, well, somethings are better shown.
[He snaps his fingers again and Vergil will be able to see his own soul. Thus is the super convenient power of dreams after all.
Along with this he may or may not notice two other things. Above them far into the sky is a stream of colors all blending together. If he focuses intently, he will be able to pick out each individual color in the mass of the lifestream. It does coil and bend and move like fluid water surrounding the entire star.
The second is that Emet-Selch's soul is actually two toned, a primary with another color coiling around it.]
What do you think? Your soul is a little unusual and ... missing a few pieces, but considering the one on Zrael....
[He's one to observe, to take everything in and think it over himself first before saying anything. In particular to compare his and Emet-Selch's. He doesn't know how it works, they might be so different just because they're different types of beings. Lahabrea told him of the voidsent, maybe his state is similar to them somehow, just corrupted by demonic blood?]
...Raven is the entirety of my human self, he should be half my soul. I think? I can't say I know how it works, exactly. But...either way I'm meant to have been whole again.
When it comes to all of creation, souls are unique. Only they have the sole exception of being created by either magic or technology.
You split willingly, did you not? If the memory is to be believed. Though souls were never meant to be fragmented in such a way though at least yours was done quiet specifically. I would be curious to see if you retained all of your memories or were they lost or shared between you.
I should point out, the Raven here might not be the Raven you know. This place has proven that multiple timelines can exist in tandem. A thought in case you do seek to regain what was lost.
I split willingly from him, but he wasn't exactly in agreement. Half the point of it was to be rid of my memories, so he must have been given all, or nearly all of them.
...Would regaining what was lost even be possible now? Here?
It's all a matter of negotiation, is it not? If you can believe they can do it, you simply have to convince them it is in their best interests.
But I agree, 'tis not to be taken lightly.
To answer your earlier question, however, if I had enough time, both parts of your soul, and my abilities, I probably could rebind them. It was ever my specialty.
I'm sure he'd have a few objections. Though I am curious, despite your lack of memories caused by the Production, how do you feel less whole in other aspects?
[He blinks.]
I wonder which it is. He either told you a lot. Or you actually bothered to listen. Perhaps a bit of both.
Besides my memories? I'm lacking socially, emotionally, and in everyday skills. But I don't feel as if I'm incomplete.
[He stops for a moment to think, looking up at the colours in the sky]
He didn't exactly tell me whether you were trying to fix them, but I can connect the dots. It was obvious how much it troubled him, and I don't see him as the kind of person who would just accept it.
Though I do think I should say, as much as I feel he was quite open with me, I know there was more being held back. You might want to be careful what you say - I, at least, don't want to mislead you into casually saying more. To go behind his back to find out what he doesn't want to reveal. He has given me an ounce of trust and I don't intend to betray it.
I can't even say that is due to the state of your soul as much as your upbringing.
[He taps his chin.]
Then I will be careful not to add to your array of knowledge regarding our circumstances. Though truly I doubt he would mind, but I will respect your wishes.
Though if we are doing away with pretenses, you may call me Emet-Selch.
Now, you should feel as if you have all your abilities? That was the point?
Maybe not, but until I know that for certain it doesn't seem right. ...Thank you, Emet-Selch.
[He considers the thought, whether everything seems to be in order, difficult to say exactly. But it does feel the same as his memories.
It may be more noticeable now with the city lights rather than the unlit darkness of the underworld, that his shadow takes the shape of that demon form, wings and all. It's definitely not that I just forgot that's a thing until right now]
I respect him far too much. His my senior in all things actually.
[He taps his chin and walks around him.]
Interesting, your shadow. Though I've seen a familiar phenomenon. Or lack thereof. Definitely the mark of something different than a normal mortal. But none of this is news to you.
Your abilities. It seemed as if the sword was assisting. Can you explain them to me?
[He'd asked if they were comrades, but honestly, Lahabrea being the senior was not what he expected at all. That's endearing.]
The sword comes from the demon world, it was once my father's, and was used to separate the human and demon realms.
[Given Emet-Selch's Sight, he may very well see fragments of a soul in it. At least two, actually, as there's a piece of Vergil's, and what ever demon(s) or humans went into making it, maybe even something of his father.]
It's easier to demonstrate its ability with a pair of crosshatched swipes through the air, leaving an open void. He leaves it there a moment, and it remains, until he steps through and it closes behind him. In the same instant he reappears a few feet away.]
It's what separated Raven from me, too. In case you thought stabbing myself was just for fun.
I believe it to be linked to a demonic transformation as well. It's my more natural state than this form, thus the shadow, but I don't think it's possible without this sword. ...It feels like a part of me.
Your color is woven in the weapon. No wonder it feels a apart of you. Though I imagine your father used it to cleave apart the realms before your soul ever got entwined with it.
[He can't help but laugh.]
How is that I am always endeared to those whose true form, true sense of self, is stifled by their current mortal flesh? Though do feel free to wear your true guise if you wish. I certainly won't be offended.
Right on both accounts, it was some two thousand years before my birth.
[That he's linked with the sword is certainly news, but at the same time it's almost comforting. Like a companion, even if it's just an object. The invitation to change, too, is an odd sort of comfort. It does feel more right, especially when it's impossible in reality. Besides it might be of interest, so he'll take Emet-Selch up on the offer. He transforms in a flash of the same blue light, standing another foot or so taller, spiked tail slithering on the ground behind him, wings outstretched. When he speaks it sounds almost like he's inside the creature, muffled yet echoing.
It embeds the sword in his arm, like a built-in sheath.]
Wait - do you get to see Valour as an adult in dreams? I'm jealous.
I'm not the only one who can use it, if you'd like to test it yourself.
In his memories actually. Though I know being trapped in his current form makes him feel out of place at sorts.
[He gives him a bow after he changes.]
With that I do hope you feel more comfortable. And if you are offering, I would like to inspect if further. Though this is only a reflection and I can only approximate a best guess compared to the waking world.
[He hands the Yamato over then. It's the souls embedded inside that power Devil Arms, and special abilities tend to have to do with what skills those demons had themselves, if he's able to see any such things in them.]

Please do, I'm not exactly fond of it.
Re: 248 night
But if Lahabrea likes Vergil enough, he'll skip that and go to something nicer.
He'll find himself in this city where everything seems is twice too tall with shades walking about.
He bows.]
Welcome to Amaurot.

However, if you believe the allure of graduation, your options are to return home or a wish.

You've tried it with your shards, I take it?
