I do remember that. And admittedly this did have me looking forward to it. I figure once I am in Amaurot I'll also be able to just blink away if the debate doesn't interest me.
Truthfully, they would be amused by your antics more than not. I daresay some would even make a game of seeing who could make you teleport the fastest.
[He pauses.]
I do hope you enjoy his company. To get to hear the tales from him directly, fresh and without the taint of time and loss that my own stories are painted with.
You're still far more dramatic than I ever will be, I simply enjoy having the last word.
As for Levity ... I am enjoying his company. Not surprising, considered you have taken care to mention I would quite often. I will look forward finding out more about your people and Amaurot through him.
And to hear his stories about the time you spent together. ... I did offer to be there for him when he takes his memories. Just in case.
But yes. You should invite him. I imagine you'd both enjoy it.
[ he would protest about wanting their approval but they would both know it's a giant lie, so he doesn't, and nods. ]
I do imagine our feelings are quite similar under these circumstances, in a lot of ways. And you're right, it's like walking on glass. ... But I'd say in the end it's worth it. you've missed him, haven't you.
It is. Though I do end up thinking sometimes it would have been better if they hadn't arrived here. Every time I'm with them it takes a conscious effort not to slide into back habits again. To act as our father taught us. To bring the worse in each other. I fear that soon enough they'll be the ones to think I'm not worth their time after all.
[ but that's not what he wanted to talk about, so he presses on, his hand moving to the back of his neck now ]
If it is just "everything and anything" and not something you care for, wouldn't you have fun with it? Like old times, perhaps. Or are you worried it would be something more serious than that?
I can offer you as much support as I can, but in the end that is a habit you and only you can break. But know that I have no doubts you will not succeed. Your siblings while they seem foolish are more mature than I thought they were going to be.
[He sighs leaning down a bit since Five has something in mind.]
He's already having nightmares just thinking about games. How bad will he be when he lives through it? He will be heavily influenced on the issues of morality by his unit, and all those aforementioned people I said that would watch him are not there.
So, yes, I imagine we will fight on new things. On old things. Even the insignificant ones seem... tiring.
Your support is already more than enough. Had it not been for you I don't think I would even have enough awareness to recognize this. Or admit to it, at any rate.
But regarding Levity ... perhaps being upfront would help. You are old and tired after all, you could blame it on age.
And if things truly start going toward a direction you don't enjoy you could take a page from my book and walk away.
No one can stand alone as much as they would like think otherwise.
[He folds his arms.]
I cannot leave it to rest. Nor can I walk away. Even if I wished to, Lahabrea and others would not allow it. And rightfully so. He deserves better.
I thought I would have more time to prepare. To determine what I was going to say to them. For if I am not careful I will simply end up with another Wildfire.
[He brings his knuckles to his lips so he can kiss them gently.]
I know it isn't ideal. Had I more courage like Lahabrea, I'm sure I would be meeting the challenge head on. But it is too raw. A bit too unbearable.
You do not, but I like to hear it all the same. I know you will not let me drown in it should I go too far. A safety net I have been lacking up until now.
I don't need you or this situation to be ideal. I'm perfectly content with it being a mess, with you being a mess, unable to know how to move forward for once.
You're right, it is too raw. And I will not expect or demand you to be anything you're not. Just like you haven't with me.
Like you said. I will simply make certain you will not drown in it.
[ The kiss surprises him - but it doesn't take him long to respond in kind - letting out a low pleased noise against his lips. When Emet talks, however, he can't help a small laugh ]
Is that a request? Lily did say I should learn to enjoy poetry just to use it against you - should I make a poem about your greatness?

Re: Five
[He taps his nose.]
... would be poor manners.
Re: Five
Re: Five
You could politely decline, you know. A few simple words and freedom from boredom would be yours.
Re: Five
But admittedly considering your people are polite enough that a few simple words would be enough even I would feel bad about it.

Perhaps I should invite him to the movie room.

Re: Five
'Tis a little like stepping on glass. Talking to him. I'm sure you feel the same about your family. Ever do you want their approval.

Re: Five
And I do not doubt his worth. I simply do not want to fight with him.
Re: Five
[ he'll bring his hand to his cheek, thumb stroking it gently as he looks up at him ]
Do you think you will, if you spend time with him, if he gets to know you better as you are now? Fight him.
Re: Five
[He taps his chin.]
Yes, about everything and anything. For he and Azem were always of a capricious nature. That is their charm, but as I said things have changed.

Re: Five
... But to be honest I think no amount of time will ever prepare you. To deal with him, to deal with your people. ... Azem as well.
[ there's a pause, and then he seems to be considering something seriously ]
Well. Would rehearsing help? For when you'll have to actually talk about it.
Re: Five
Just allow me this avoidance.
Re: Five
I did say I would let you handle this however you want. So long as you're not at any risk of harming yourself, I'll allow some avoidance.
And I know I don't need to remind you I'm here.

[He slips his fingers out of the hold so he can wrap his arms around him, chin resting on his shoulder.]
Re: Five
I've learned by example. I had a very stubborn, insufferable teacher.
Re: Five
I'd like an introduction one day. Or perhaps you could just sing his praises.
