Everyday I have missed him. His humor. His wit. His guidance.

And I do not doubt his worth. I simply do not want to fight with him.

I suppose what I'm trying to say is that the joy you will feel at spending time with him is worth the nagging doubts to the back of your mind.

[ he'll bring his hand to his cheek, thumb stroking it gently as he looks up at him ]

Yes, about everything and anything. For he and Azem were always of a capricious nature. That is their charm, but as I said things have changed.

It is. Though I do end up thinking sometimes it would have been better if they hadn't arrived here. Every time I'm with them it takes a conscious effort not to slide into back habits again. To act as our father taught us. To bring the worse in each other. I fear that soon enough they'll be the ones to think I'm not worth their time after all.

If it is just "everything and anything" and not something you care for, wouldn't you have fun with it? Like old times, perhaps. Or are you worried it would be something more serious than that?

I can offer you as much support as I can, but in the end that is a habit you and only you can break. But know that I have no doubts you will not succeed. Your siblings while they seem foolish are more mature than I thought they were going to be.

[He sighs leaning down a bit since Five has something in mind.]

He's already having nightmares just thinking about games. How bad will he be when he lives through it? He will be heavily influenced on the issues of morality by his unit, and all those aforementioned people I said that would watch him are not there.

So, yes, I imagine we will fight on new things. On old things. Even the insignificant ones seem... tiring.

Your support is already more than enough. Had it not been for you I don't think I would even have enough awareness to recognize this. Or admit to it, at any rate.

But regarding Levity ... perhaps being upfront would help. You are old and tired after all, you could blame it on age.

[ there's a pause, and then he seems to be considering something seriously ]

[ he's considering it for a moment, but eventually he nods, reaching for Emet's hand to lace their fingers together ]

[He brings his knuckles to his lips so he can kiss them gently.]

I know it isn't ideal. Had I more courage like Lahabrea, I'm sure I would be meeting the challenge head on. But it is too raw. A bit too unbearable.

You do not, but I like to hear it all the same. I know you will not let me drown in it should I go too far. A safety net I have been lacking up until now.

Poetry? I would enjoy it, but I was quite sure that wasn't in your interests. Besides, you have enough to use against me already.

It isn't, and honestly the best you could expect from me is something along the lines "Roses are red, violets are blue." Nothing further than that.

I do think telling you how much I love you would be far more effective. Perhaps listing all the reasons I do. How you've managed to warm my heart and capture it so thoroughly I refuse to live a life you won't be a part of.

[ He's honestly surprised because yes, he'd also just been used to having all upgrades in Baritones. And honestly he's already touched just at the knowledge that Emet would do that, that Vergil and Lahabrea would help with that. ]
