And even if I am not, would you have me burden it on those for whom such events would not come to pass? It is not that I doubt their compassion or willingness to help, but I would spare them.

I'm not sure what I would have you do, but I wouldn't leave you alone, either. Besides... To them it would be something that would never come to pass. And thus, I think, it would be less of a burden, and take secondary place to taking care of you.

I have thought about that as well.

Not that it matters in the end. We could spend an eternity guessing or wondering what could have happened differently. But what happened, happened. Wishing it was not the case, would not change that fact.
