[He considers resisting but he is too tired and so, head in Emet's lap it is, lifting his hand to rest his fingers at the back of Emet's neck.]
Mm. Their actions were not done with malice or ill-intent. I cannot find the energy in myself to be mad for anything but being separated from you, and for the betrayal that hurts your heart.
[He runs his fingers through Lahabrea's hair, scratching his scalp. Looking down at him fondly.]
I know. 'Tis that reason why they get a chance at all.
Now, what can I do for you? Read. Tell tales. Perhaps take you to the beach or the balcony to see the stars. Or simply pet your hair and caress your skin until you relax.
Having you here is more than relaxing my nerves, smile or no. I worry for you terribly at the moment. Your mood. Your physical health. Your facilities.
[He sits up though, out of Emet's lap, snagging some paper and looking it over then discarding it, repeating that until he finds the right set of formulas to pass over. More animated though it is somewhat frenetic.]
Math is math, but I have been attempting to convert his formulas to arcane for ease. It would be no trial for you or I to traverse to rift to his world but for him to get back to our star is another matter.
[He pauses.]
I do get ahead of myself though. I told you we spoke a while.
You had best hear me out. Honestly. Do you think I say this lightly without thinking it over? Without knowing everything fully?
You know the tempering does cloud your judgment just as I know it, do not pretend otherwise even if you cannot admit to it.
The issue is not getting you to acknowledge that much anyway.
[He bites the side of his thumb, looking at nothing, gaze unfocused and distant.]
I want to try a different approach than what we have set on. One that may afford me more time to identify and isolate the cause to what befell our star. But in order to do so we would need to detour before returning to our own home. To help Five deal with his commission, and take from them the technology to freeze time itself.
Do not give me that tone. You are distraught, and I'd rather not make such judgments during this time.
[He leans back on his hands pensive and thoughtful. He is listening even if his face seems unconvinced.]
I have no qualms with wanting to find the source of the Final Days. Nor will I ever say no to assisting Five. However, jumping between shards is taxing enough and our sundered brethren could not make the jump while Hydaelyn was more active. Thus we would strand ourselves.
We have a solution for the Final Days, and I would not jeopardize that. Lord Zodiark was meant to hold off that tragedy.

Re: Day 272
What would relax you, Hades? Holding each other under the stars, perhaps?
Re: Day 272
[Continuing to pet and massage his scalp.]

I simply wish for you to be alright.
Re: Day 272
I know. So long as I have you I can promise I will recover.
So I suppose that makes just each other the most effective medicine.
Re: Day 272
Hasn't it always been that way for a thousand thousand lifetimes.
[He does look up and regard the soup on the table.]
Would you care for something else?
Re: Day 272
[He follows Emet-Selch's gaze and shakes his head.]
I find I have no appetite. Do not fret, I am eating as much as I can bear.
Re: Day 272
I know. Trust me, I do. And I appreciate the effort you are putting in. It must be harrowing.
Re: Day 272
Re: Day 272
Though I am glad you have the company of others.
Re: Day 272
But between you and Five I am well looked after.
Re: Day 272
Would you like to rest or show me what you are working on?

Re: Day 272
[He takes the paper and holds it out in front of him to read it. With his other hand he rubs circles at base of his neck.]
I aught to give you his formulas on teleportation that he transcribed for me. I do see some similarities as I've already tried to convert them.
[He simply nods at that.]
I hope it helped it helped.
Re: Day 272
Do. But I did mean to speak to you of what I and Five discussed before we go relaxing. I do not think that our current plans are viable.
Re: Day 272
Re: Day 272
How shall I put this.
I believe the tempering has clouded our judgment. Made us fixate on a singular path when others are available.

Re: Day 272
But how long have we been doing things on our own? You would have us seek friends. I would have us ask their concrete help.
