I'm almost starting to consider following your example. Your dorm is more fun, admittedly.
That said. Though I'm glad to see you're focusing your energy elsewhere, I still would like to hear your thoughts. We talked about it some yesterday but, well. I worry.
[Sitting in one of the cabanas and getting a drink --- something ridiculous fruity and properly beached theme, and offer one to Five as well.]
Ah, that.
Absinthe and Vergil will have much work to do if they truly want to be in my good graces again. I will certainly not trust them implicitly with my life or my well being.
But it's more than that. I do wonder how a group of individuals would see a man trying to absorb a star and look at those that would oppose them and think "surely, these are the enemies" and fight thusly.
Who was there to fight you? I can imagine those who already know of you and your goals would jump to that conclusion, but I can't understand it for others.
[ going to take that drink and look for a little umbrella to put on it though, let's just go all out on this theme ]
Thancred and the Exarch. You unit mate, the one with mechanical limbs. Vergil, Cardinal, Raven, and finally Persephone whom did show up late.
I was struck in the back before I realized the entrance of the others. Lahabrea unleashed ultima and then he was taken down by a combined effort before Vergil untempered him then spirited him away.
At least at the end Cardinal had the decency to help me to my feet.
I could not tell you who struck what blow disoriented as I was, but no strike other than my own and Lahabrea's was aimed at Absinthe.
[No one will tell him who shot him. It's hilarious. Fushigi mystery forever.]
Even if they did not, they stood by while the star was destroyed. These so called righteous Heroes. I suppose it is fortunate they showed their true colors before. So troublesome it would have been later on.
What I simply do not understand is how we became the targets so readily.
Absinthe I will simply shame. Now that he has someone close to him, he will not want to lose them no matter how much he bemoans otherwise. And he did go so far as to apologize which is a bit surprising, so he at least admits wrongdoing.
[Plus, Absinthe has had such a bad life, even he can't be too mean.]
As for Vergil, it is simply time he faced his fears. His fear of failure, of rejection, of loneliness. If he can master them, then he won't panic and commit such acts of stupidity.
[He relaxes at the explanation and provides one of his own.]
You simply seem odd.
'Twas simply your unique fascination with my glasses as I don't truly you care about their aesthetic value. And it has been quite a while that you have completely banned an entire topic.
You presence always cheers me up, Five. You do not need to worry about that. And it is hard to focus when Lahabrea practically shakes, and I knowing I'm ignoring your own ordeal to manage at a later time.
Re: 272 afternoon
I am rather fond of how the living space is shaping up. Each one seems to be tailored to specific tastes.
Better. Once the ire had melted it left one path forward. To fix the problem by ensuring it is never allowed to come to pass again.

And you were betrayed by people you love.

Re: 272 afternoon
Noah and Thancred may be your enemies, but I can't imagine they'd care about stabbing you in the back during that mess.
Cardinal cares for you, and Persephone joined late. Vergil was occupied by Lahabrea.
That leaves Ao and Raven as the likely candidates.

Re: 272 afternoon
[ taking a sip of that drink ]
Re: 272 afternoon
You can't reason with these people, Five. They will simply live their lives lashing about at all around them, feeble and pathetic.
Re: 272 afternoon
They just go on about their daily lives.
Re: 272 afternoon
My people do not.
[Tilting the sunglasses to rest upon his forehead as he takes a drink.]
Re: 272 afternoon
Well. That's part of why we're getting them back. Among other things.
Re: 272 afternoon
I have a reasonable solution put into place for both Vergil and Absinthe. We'll see if they pan out.
Re: 272 afternoon
Not going to share?

Re: 272 afternoon
As far as plans go they seem solid enough. You do care about them both, so. I'm glad you're at least giving them a chance, despite everything.
... I was worried, admittedly. About how hurt you'd be upon truly losing them.
Re: 272 afternoon
'Tis a shame, really. Simply being in Absinthe's presence was quite ... calming for me. I wonder if it will be the same going forward.
Re: 272 afternoon
But I think you want to find a reason to do so, sometime down the line. Maybe in a couple of centuries.
[ he'll take the glasses off and hand them back to him. ]
It's all still fresh, so. Give yourself time.
Re: 272 afternoon
[He takes them back and still looks puzzled.]
And why did you want these?
Re: 272 afternoon
Re: 272 afternoon
[He's not really expecting an answer.]
And you really ought to spare your concern for Lahabrea and yourself. So do indulge me in return. How are you faring?
Re: 272 afternoon
We're not talking about me today.
Re: 272 afternoon
Re: 272 afternoon
What? No.
[ a pause and then he just adds ]
I'm trying to cheer you up and make sure you actually focus on yourself for once.
