More than I would like to admit. But remember I haven't changed much in eons. Well, at least not for the better.

[Cardinal takes it easy on him this time and doesn't squirm around. They card their fingers through Emet-Selch's hair. ]

You don't find it invigorating?

Honestly, I'm surprised it is even possible. If anything, it is terrifying.

[He lays them down and joins them for cuddling.]

[Cardinal spends a few fidgety moments getting comfortable. After some contemplation, they kick off the towel.]

Speaking of... Would you teach me magic?

[He just shakes his head and tosses a blanket over both of them seeing if they will kick that off, too. Because he's an ass sometimes.]

I would be happy to try.

[It was wet! Cardinal acquiesces to the blanket, sprawling along the length of Emet-Selch's body.]

I haven't had the ability to truly study how aether manipulation works across stars. In theory it should be possible, but I wouldn't be surprised if I gazed upon other stars upon leaving this place and would not see a wink of aether, instead they were forged and breed upon a different mystical source.

So given that it is accessible, I have no doubts you would be able to master it.

That's fine, the principles might still be useful.

I think you would find them fascinating even if they were not. You rather have the mind of a scholar.

[Cardinal blinks a bit, but given the number of books they'd been going through lately, they have to tip their head in acknowledgement.

Their own hands ruck up Emet-Selch's shirt and explore his ribs, counting the bones and tracing the musculature. Emet-Selch might have a point about their mind. All the research they'd been doing lately had been the most entergetic they'd felt about anything for a awhile. ]

That's certainly what I'd prefer.

What kind of magic are you interested in? There is conjury, thaumaturgy, and the arcane.

[They were keeping to his ribs! Even though they do think it is a shame Emet-Selch doesn't like getting his scar touched.]

The arcane. I was reading up on some Eorzean history and I read about a device called a mammet heart.

That's more along the lines of alchemy and goldsmithing, is it not?

I should have known you would be drawn to dolls. I imagine you'd enjoy summoned creatures.

Is it? Cosmo said it was an arcane device. I can goldsmith already, in any case.

It's not for the reason you think. I think you can use a mammet heart to make a prosthetic sense for a person. Cosmo said her thought it could work.

A summoned creature? Is that what that bird was?

A bit of both. You could build it out of pure arcane components, but you are much better with a mix.

Interesting. And what sense did you have in mind?

[He shakes his head.]

The bird in Levity's memory was a soul that got captured in a creation. I'm not even sure what Lahabrea's original intent was.

Any. I'm not sure yet. Your own vision would be an example of one, or a more powerful version of the Galrean third eye.

Huh... I'll ask himself some time. So what is a summoned creature?

You could definitely enhance your ability to see aether with it.

Mostly an essence of a primal. It does not retain its ability to Temper, but it can mimic their abilities in certain ways. Though there are summons that are more harmless such as carbuncles.

Where do you summon it from?

You would need a focus and a memory of said primal. Not that is this is my expert area of the arcane.

A memory? So it's like... a ghost copy?

More you need to understand the primal in which you are trying to mimic. I suppose you could make it up as you go, but it would be more difficult. Perhaps even a second hand account would work.

Yes. That is a better way of putting it. Cosmo might know more on the subject of summoning if you are interested. No one is better at summoning primals than he.

I am curious about the similarities with Achilles. Not a skill I'll pick up myself, however. I'm hardly going to hand over my will to a god.
