How could I not after all we’ve been through? And I do dearly hope if he has more people ready to catch him, we will be able to help him should he falter.
The same goes for you, of course. I would have you well taken care of. Though more for when I am too tired or desire a nap.
Have you been truly? You’ve been with your family and making friends, two tasks that as your matchmaking profile would say are out of your comfort zone.
I couldn’t pick yours out because you are hardly that way with me.
Well you've had your fill with the way I generally am with most people. And have earned the way I am with you.
[ he's going to stop massaging him in favor of wrapping his arms around him, resting his forehead against his shoulder and then just kissing his back, gently ]
I don't need a game to tell us we're a good match. And I can take you on dates any time.
[He lifts both hands, one to rest on top of his and one to rest as his elbow.]
I do not take the game seriously either, but I do wonder. I am one of the few privileged to see the real Five Hargreeves. Or is it simply that hardly anyone else bothers to look.
[ there is a pause at the question and he shakes his head ]
No, just ... well. My memories do tend to be mostly bad. Maybe I had to see my siblings die again. Maybe I get confirmation we did die. Or maybe it really will be just enjoying a cup of coffee but statistically speaking the odds are against me.
[ He squeezes his hand back and nods, and then buys the memory on his phone. I'm too tired to do the proper writeup but it's going to be the part after the Handler shot everyone at the end of s2, with her confronting Five and looking like she's about to shoot him before Five activates his powers to go back in time a few seconds - and then successfully stops her from killing everyone. And then the last bit with the swed killing her but letting them go and just going on his merry way.
Once that's done, Five just looks incredibly surprised ]
[ the grip is painful, but through it all it's more welcomed than not. It helps him ground in reality once the memory is finished, and he's still a little unsure if it really did end well, it seems too good to be true ]
If it makes you feel better I doubted myself, so. You're forgiven on that count.
I see your mind is traveling to a different kind of pampering.
[He gets them both into pajamas before sitting at the edge of the onsen with Five on his lap. For the warmth, the smell, and the atmosphere.]
A miracle. Well, it is hopeful at least. I do wish you the best.
[He cards his fingers through his hair going silent for a moment.
And then he sings for him. It is in Ancient though the reverberations of the language simply add to the melody. A song about tomorrow and the hope it brings.]
Not necessarily. But it does make it a little easier to be the big spoon with you. Though only a little.
[ He's more than fine with letting him take care of it, he's embracing Just Resting. And admittedly the memory of things going well, for once, makes him feel incredibly tired - like he's finally able to just take a break after working hard for so long.
He stays on his lap, arms around him and just enjoying his company. And when Hades begins to sing for him, he listens carefully, keeping his eyes on him - not wanting to miss a moment ]
Re: Day 363
I do find it touching, you know. How much you care for one another.

Re: Day 363
In any case I am rather privilege.
I am beyond relaxed, but is there aught you need before taking that memory?
Re: Day 363
[ and he does move away enough to go get his phone from his pile of discarded clothes, but goes back to Emet immediately ]
Re: Day 363
Imagine if the memory was simply you find the best coffee of your life.
I know you fear more memories within the apocalypse, but is there something more.

Re: Day 363
Your tale is one of hope. Of love. And, well, oddities.
[He squeezes his hand.]
Thank you for inviting me. My heart does swell when I can be of assistance.
Now whenever you are ready.
[He rests his chin on his shoulder.]
Re: Day 363

—Holy shit.
Re: Day 363
Though luckily Five and his siblings have it handled, well, mostly Five as the rest of the scene plays out.
It isn’t until he swears that the painful grip on his hand loosens finally becoming aware of it.]
Well, I never should have doubted you.
Re: Day 363
If it makes you feel better I doubted myself, so. You're forgiven on that count.
Re: Day 363
[He kisses the top of this head and rubs his thumb in circles over the back of his hand softly.]
Tell me your thoughts if you feel they are formed enough.
Re: Day 363
Me being able to travel back in time and prevent everyone's death, the Handler being gone, the Swed giving up on killing us.
I'm really not used to things going the way I want. Well. Except for when it comes to our relationship I suppose.
Re: Day 363
[He kisses the top of his head again.]
After all the nights, the work, the worries, the tears, you deserve this. A respite. For how ever long it lasts.
Congratulations. Take your well earned victory.
Re: Day 363
But he decides against that and instead shifts to kiss his cheek ]
Thanks. There'll be time to see the rest of it but for now I think just one memory will be enough.
Re: Day 363
You did get shot. Even without all the rest that would be enough to put the pause on more memories.
Does the pain still linger?
Re: Day 363
Re: Day 363
[He puts a hand at his back and under his knees and lifts him before finding a towel to dry him off.]
I am still going to pamper you anyway. Any requests or shall you leave it to my discretion.
Re: Day 363
I'll leave it to your discretion, you do tend to give me nice surprises. And fortunately my good mood seems to have endured after all.
I might even take a potion.
