Would you have preferred a different animal? A bird for yourself, perhaps? Since it seems to bother you quite a bit that that was a design I chose for my assistant.

It did not bother me. I was simply curious as to the choice. As I said, out of endless possible creations why a bird?

Partly because I needed to choose something, partly because I rather like the idea of flying, partly because of that memory I took.

Cosmo’s firebird?

Mm. Well... It served a starting point, as it were, but I went for a different design in the end. Otherwise it would be too close to Sho-senpai's assistant - his is rather styled after a firebird as well, after all. I decided on a corvid-like design: intelligent, curious and mischievous birds. Much like myself!

But why that creature? It hardly was a happy memory. That portion.

[He gives Emet a soft smile.]

Perhaps merely out of desire to have some link to my home. My other memories only have to do with people.

It may not have been happy as such, but... Was it not a sign of how important our work was?

Did you know that's what Lily kept calling me? A s'more, a marshmallow, a souffle.. Though now I am 'Snowflake' to her.

All of those are apt. Lily is quite wise.

But that makes for a less imposing and useful familiar.

It does. Besides, I'm uncertain how you could make a metallic marshmallow.
