Emet-Selch: How novel. Emet-Selch: I will have you know I am invested in keeping his soul in particular intact. Please don’t break it too much. Emet-Selch: And when you are done reminiscing come by my room.
Emet-Selch: He is very dear to someone close to me. Emet-Selch: And I am growing fonder of him. Emet-Selch: However,I do know his type and to stop him from battle would greatly diminish the joy in his life. Emet-Selch: As I said, just leave enough of his soul intact. Emet-Selch: And I would hear of your history with him sometime. If it is aught you would share. Emet-Selch: But my invitation remains open.
Pinocchio: Unlike him I'm not a brute Pinocchio: I'm not interested in fighting, he's the one hounding me for that Pinocchio: Has he told you about the Harbingers? Pinocchio: I'll consider stopping by your room, but you realize that's an open invitation for me to make good on my threat
Emet-Selch: He has told me ever briefly of the Tsarista and his goal. Though I do not know the details. Emet-Selch: Though if you were one of them I would have expected a mask of your own. Emet-Selch: I would be terribly dull and hardly satisfying to kill. Emet-Selch: Did you have any other questions?
Pinocchio: I don't need a mask here, they served a purpose that doesn't really carry over here. Though I'm not surprised he still clings onto his. Pinocchio: I was the sixth. Far higher in rank compared to him, but as you already know all the power I had is gone now. Pinocchio: I'll come to your room to consult you about how to use these ridiculous abilities we've been given.
Emet-Selch: He's sentimental. Emet-Selch: Perhaps you should try it. It might give you a new perspective. Emet-Selch: Very well. I will see how I can help. Do arrive at your leisure.
Does that bother you? To be limited in such a way.
[He puts his own cup of coffee down, and puts one leg over the other.]
But you wished to talk about abilities. I surmise with your points, you have purchased them all. BARiTONES abilities is not truly suited for single hand to hand combat. They can stall a battle, but turning the tide becomes difficult especially with puppetry.
But I do believe I have something that can help. Though I do feel partially bad you will use it against Caeli. But so does crave a fight.
[He slides him a knife across the coffee table.]
Any weapon will do truly, but there are those better suited for concealing. I doubt you'd want to carry around a broadsword.
No. I can defend myself just fine under normal circumstances. Even my first death was just a matter of suffering the consequences of a stupid choice.
[ he'll take it and analyze it for a few moments before he hands it over again ]
I already purchased one, and two is going overboard for all the good it will do for me. But I'm almost touched you thought of providing me with a weapon.
I tried to get him to back off by making him drunk but that only made him release his stupid pheromones ability. And subterfuge that doesn't work on that idiot. Unfortunately that seems to be what our abilities are best geared toward.
He's a petulant child that is demanding my attention and I don't mind putting him back in his place.
We used to spar when we got bored at the headquarters. But my talents are primarily magic-based. And I don't want to see him brag about defeating me anytime soon.
[Why does Caeli have to be like this? This adorable fight loving dork.]
[But in the end he slides over his gun.]
Have you already purchased on of those?
Though I will request if your spars move away from 'fun' into actual aggression, I will request it back. And do send me your location if you do decide to play. I'd like to avoid further corruptions for the both of you, and I can work out something with pep and sensitIV for the revivals and healings.
[ he's staring at the gun and checking it over like he has no idea what he's supposed to do with it, but eventually, he once again just hands it back ]
I only need assistance in understanding our abilities. I don't need a babysitter or additional weapons. Subterfuge doesn't work with Tartaglia but I'm not actually trying to kill him, and neither is he. If anything he keeps babbling on saying he missed me.
For others, well, I'll just have to smile and stab them in the back when they don't expect it.
I can teach you how to use it. You are not the only mage bereft of their abilities.
[He just leaves it on the table.]
Good, but that doesn't mean accidents don't happen. The offer is there.
Puppeteering is probably your best defense, but you will need them to get close. Taunting is the best and when they do approach, you can deflect their blow and activate it. Then you can hold them there or do as you wish. It might be a bit awkward, but I believe in your creativity.
As for his pheromones, you might make him simply forget he has that ability altogether. Though I do refrain from altering memories for personal reasons. You could also attempt to make him forget his passion for fighting, but I'm not sure if the ability works that way.
I would enjoy it if you got along with the unit. Would make all our lives easier. As for the rest, I simply want you to enjoy your time here as much as possible. A break or vacation as it were. Loyalty not needed.

Re: 411 night
A question before we start. Is this the first time you’ve died?
[He also gets him a cup of coffee. He has tea, but who makes that?]
Re: 411 night
No, I've died before coming here.
[ going to look over coffee . . . and eventually taking the cup, sipping it ]
If it wasn't such a stupid death I wouldn't care about this one.
Re: 411 night
[He sits down on the couch motioning for him to do the same if he likes.]
You spoke of an unnaturally long life. Was that you first then? Or does your soul or body mend itself after?
Re: 411 night
[ His hair was long in the memory he showed him, after all ]
But obviously I can still die if I'm damaged. That is what happened that first time.

Besides. Tell me if I am wrong, but I imagine your caretakers were not the most nurturing?

I never had a "caretaker" to begin with.
