I do not care for the phrasing myself, but we both understand the meaning. You would not make such a choice if you were not forced. In such situations even those that are chosen can hardly view themselves as winners.
And no one can accuse you of not loving so strongly. I do hope another such game will not present itself, but that is not for us to decide.
But I am glad you feel as if you can voice your opinions on the matter.
In the end a certain number of units were to be injured. No matter how hard you would have argued that fact would simply not change. Hence, at some point it does become a waste of effort.
