Endwalker Spoilers

[personal profile] firstworldproblem 2022-04-24 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Meanwhile, back in ye days of splendor and glory....

Emet-Selch is upset, exceedingly so, as he exits a building in Elpis. He can hear Hythlodaeus (Levity) call after him as he fumes. How dare he be accused of such things! Of being a megalomaniacal madman set upon the destruction of multiple stars. But above all, he would never sully the memory of his people, his star, all that he loves so much. But even as he berates the events, he is mad at himself because there is a sliver, the tiniest sliver, that understand that it can be true.

He can't remember who told him this. About a future he doesn't remember so long ago in his past.

Hythlodaeus finally catches up and calms him down like only he can.

The next scenes that play out are him and Hythlodaeus interrogating people in Elpis. Asking about Hermes' pet project, Meteion, who he is close to, his general demeanor. It is rushed and clipped and Hades is clearly upset, but he's still being professional if not a little curt as he gathers the information.

The last scene is the pair leaving a pair of researchers and on the horizon is Venat and some blob of a figure coming to great them.]
