[Such thoughtful touches he's noticed and connected, appreciates without saying anything really. And had there been one tonight he'd have resigned himself to hunting Emet down in the morning. But he turns his head into the touches, not bothering to open his eyes but moving to give Emet room.]
To get it out of the way, I assume you have noticed our new Scion?
[He lifts a hand and tucks Emet's bangs from his face.]
Indeed. We had a chat. It involved knives. And a gun. In any case we are coming to an understanding, but I did not want you surprised if I am a bit sore for a little while.
He has agreed not to antagonize us, to his Baldesion friend, but he does not yet know why and I cannot trust that it will last if he does. So that is the current state of things in that direction.
[He can't help but let worry crease his forehead.]
I won't fault a little animosity. The Exarch and I have exchanged blows in frustration.
How sore?
[At that last part he sighs still petting his hair. He'll probably keep that motion up unless asked otherwise.]
How ironic that it is G'raha Tia that is the most reasonable. Though I suppose he is the most like us having suffered insurmountable loss and desperately trying to change it. I do trust him to keep his word.
But I agree with your assessment, I do not trust that scowling man of a Scion. So what should we do?
[He's happy to indulge in it so keep petting your cat Emet]
A little stabbed. Nothing dire, but I will be stiff.
As for what to do--for now, nothing. We can but wait. If the Exarch of yours truly does wish to see this accord through he will do the persuading for us. Though we shall likely have to assume he cannot manage it, and plan accordingly.
[He already has a cat! Free, even, from the gatcha. Guess Lahabrea is his larger more grumpy cat from the gatcha known as the unitmate roulette.]
Cruel, Lahabrea. I would have liked to shoot one of them first.
[He says it with zero seriousness.]
Just don't let it get infected.
I will give it a few days and then speak to the Exarch directly. We are trying to be more honest since there truly isn't any more secrets to hide. ... Besides your previous scheme.
You had plenty of time to shoot the Exarch but there you are, making deals with him. Don't blame me for your reasonable and thought-out actions. I enjoyed shooting Thancred, alas for you.
[He's mostly joking really.]
I look forward to hearing how it goes. In the meantime I will discuss with Thancred how best we can live together in this place, whatever that may require.
[Lying down on his back and pull Lahabrea's head to lean on his shoulder.]
I do still believe you have some issues to work through. But the again I suppose of that excuse of Holy Emperor made his appearance, I would be just as upset.
Good. And I'm not saying don't push them. The Exarch and I have our own spats that delve into violence. And I will not deny that is healing in its own way.
Ah, but you have not told me what part of you will be ginger for a while.
[Thancred has good aim and Lahabrea isn't an idiot who removes objects from wounds until he treats them so whatever damage was done really was minimal in comparison to what it could have been. But even with enough painkillers to almost walk normally that still gets a mild hiss. Not nearly as much of a reaction as it should given it's fresh but he is on the good hell drugs.]
[He frowns. How could he not, but for once he is not mothering removing his fingers once the inspection is done. He scratches Lahabrea's scalp instead.]
I did. And I'm afraid I can't honor the request.
I do believe I was interrupting your rest. Though do you wish to change first?
[And he does help him sit up, but shoos him from going further. He gets sleep ware for both. He doesn't fully help Lahabrea change as he doesn't want to injure his pride, but he will offer a balancing hand or help him with the sleeves if it looks painful.]
[He huffs, amused at the commentary but he does accept the help, moving carefully not because he is in that much pain, but because he isn't. His injuries are bandaged and clean so it's impossible to see the stitching, but since it was Lahabrea and Yvette handling that one can assume it was done competently.
Once he's changed with a little help he will crawl in bed with a tired groan.]
[This soft man. He drapes an arm over him, pulling them both closer to each other, gently, allowing for his injury, and rubs a thumb over his shoulder.]

Re: Day 261
An audition, I imagine. By the intense scowl I was given.

Re: Day 261
I was going to let a single incident go by, but you've had an unusual amount of aggression. First in fooling the Exarch and now this.
Is there aught you want to discuss? I am not going to deter you from your actions. Truly I don't mind. But I worry for you.

Re: Day 261
Perhaps. I do not think I shall ever be over it. But as long as he does not harm you I will not be shooting any more Scions.
I would not stop you from revenge either, even if it is rather beneath both of us.
Re: Day 261
As much as I am touched by you protection, 'tis more important that the Exarch can get him to agree. He's more naive and can cause more problems.
You know I hardly care about physical injury or death.
But do as you please. I trust you to be able to know your limits.
[Also know as, this is your test of competence after withering your soul to nothing. Don't fuck it up.]
Re: Day 261
I know. I will not push myself. It would be inconvenient to be incapacitated.
As for those two, I will not meddle beyond what I seem necessary.
Re: Day 261
Ah, but you have not told me what part of you will be ginger for a while.
Re: Day 261
Speaking of which I owe Yvette something nice. She has more than earned it in general. But specifically she was helpful in setting me right.
I'm open to suggestions.
Re: Day 261
She loves spy movies, dressing up, and being a busybody. She also enjoys learning new things. Anything ranging for weapon study to electronics.
[He runs a hand over the spot of his chest, pressing down lightly. The others are less concerning.]
You can start with those ridiculous apple slice animals and move from there.

You like the apple bunnies, and don't be a brat.

For once I feel a bit my age.
Re: Day 261
[He gets into bed with him and arranges themselves similarly to before, Lahabrea being tucked to his side rather than the other way around.]
Rest. I'll help you change those bandages in the morning and as long as you need.
Re: Day 261
[He accepts being tucked against Emet though, eyes closing.]
Thank you as ever my friend. I apologize for the unpleasant task.
[at least hell healing is greatly accelerated.]
Re: Day 261
For you? I would do anything.
