No, but I'm still rather fond of them both so I wouldn't call them my enemies either. They're... people I need to keep note of, shall we say. But as for my allies, as far as I've been able to tell they're all still back home.
You have a plan that will radically change how your star functions yet you are unwilling to share it with anyone. No second opinion, no other critical eye, in fear a few protests.
I'm fully and completely aware this is a flawed, desperate plan. It's not my first choice- it wouldn't have made my top ten. My lack of willingness to share it, to avoid those protests is not due to fear. It's because people will be sentimental and I'd rather avoid it. "There has to be another way, one where you don't sell your soul to a demon for a wish!" But there isn't, and I can't afford to let that sentimentality weaken my resolve.
I'll grant I'd be more willing to talk with someone who has no stake in my star, someone who doesn't care. That's why I haven't walked away from this conversation.
Now there is fire, and we are properly getting to the heart of the matter.
The naive I at least understand. However, you're an audition. Heaven's path is not available to you. Your options are limited. And yes, one would cry to break down the entire system, but it is beneficial to some and you did come here of your own free will.
That is simply their own childish beliefs unwilling to face reality.
Thus you are declaring these individuals here, those from you star, unrealistic in their beliefs?
I am. They're good people, caring and decent... and ultimately, soft. They would want to fight, to tear down the system pretty much exactly like you said. To find "some other way." And unfortunately, I have a soft spot for them. It'd be hard to ignore them in the face of those passionate beliefs.
Keeping my silence is extremely selfish, possibly even unfair. But I've known that from the start.
Are they good people, caring, and decent? I would argue not.
Let's take this place for example. The assumption is there is no good in selling your soul to a demon. Hence, the system should be removed. This is inherently false. There are a number of auditions who have came here for a reason dear to their hearts. Who have put their hopes in this chance, and are willing to make that sacrifice.
Overturning the system would deny them that chance, assuming the chance is true which has not been fully proven or denied. But for the sake of argument, let us assume it has. So they rally to upend the system and succeed. Will they be able to fill the desires of all those whose opportunity was lost? Of course not. I doubt that even thought about such a consequence into their consideration. Thus, I would not call these people good or caring or decent. They would deny other their hearts desire without even knowing what suffering they would inflict.
That is the fallacy you must break. That upending this place only bring about salvation and peace and brighter opportunities.
Though I will agree that it is unfortunate that there are those here who come unwillingly. If that is a matter that can be addressed, it should.
Even fundamentally decent people can be misguided and shortsighted. And the ones here are coming from that unwilling perspective. I think it's harder to see why people would make the choice from their perspective.
But I do agree that's a fallacy I need to break them of, that the whole system needs to go just because it's flawed. ...Not that I can blame them, I'd be of the same mind in their position. But I'm not and i want this.
If you could be of the same mind, then you are just as ignorant and foolish as they are. Understanding their position is one thing, believing in it is another.
And truly can you not see the results?
If one audition was to use their wish to save their world from a plague, by actions of dismantling the production would remove that chance. And for what? Because the lot of you wants to dream of a nebulous, unachievable solution fueled by hatred and discord by being forced here.
I could have been and it does me no good to pretend otherwise. I know myself better than that. I'd be too blinded by my own anger to care about the alternative.
But I've got the benefit of perspective with me. And a much clearer head than I would've had otherwise without quite a bit of time.
You'll find no lack of credible confidants here if you care to look. I would still recommend one. A plan of such scale is bound to have flaws if left to one person.
