[Even more reason that Vergil should have gone first! It is with not small amount of effort that they find themselves on top of an elevator with the only light being small leds in the wall and from the buttons below. And of course, they would be unfortunate enough to be between floors.

[Of course they're between floors. He tests one of the cables, how much of a grip he can get on it. Then he takes his haori off to loop around the cable and start twisting the excess around his hands.]

I do believe I would enjoy a little friendly violence under normal circumstances. A chance to stretch one's legs, as it were. However, I've seen so much of it in recent eons I'm quite at my fill.

He's very glad he's wearing a linen suit today rather than hakama, that would make pulling himself up the cable pretty difficult with all the extra fabric. As it is, he can show off a bit, holding himself up with thigh strength alone to slide clothing rope as high as he can reach, then use that for leverage to lift his body up.
This is actually pretty fun for him. He doesn't get enough exercise lately.]

How far was the elevator up? Five floors? Six? Well, they didn't label the inside so he'll find himself at a pair of metal doors.]
[Well. Getting over to the doors is the hard part now since he's just hanging in the middle of the elevator shaft, at least a few meters from the door.
He'll make a common law so his sword can't break, take it from his side and drop the sheath. Catch, Emet. Then he throws the sword itself at the door and because he's a dmc and has to be extra, it manages to hit right in the crack between the doors. That he reaches for as he pushes himself off the cables, and dangles from it for a moment before pulling himself up.
There isn't enough room on the platform for more than half his foot, so trying to pry the doors open proves even harder than it should normally be. Could he have used Common Law for all this? Probably. But that wouldn't be fun.
Since he's feral he doesn't mind trying to brute force it. There's just going to be a lot of huffing and puffing. His grunts echo.]
[Thank goodness for Garlean third eyes and their ability to enhance precision. He catches the sheath in one hand. Ah, to be a mage in a tankier body. Hand this been his actual body, it probably would have hit him in the head or something.

So the elevator shaft fills with sounds of effort. At least for a bit. Then there is a mechanical grind. Just once, but it's loud. So if an elevator detects there are no occupants, where does it go?]
[....Where does it go. He's not about to waste his effort and leave the door, but he does lean over to look down, not quite yet panicking, if it starts moving it shouldn't be too fast at least, right? Not that they should trust the imps not to interfere.
So he calls out.]
If you're coming up you'd better get ready to jump over here, Emet-Selch! I don't want to have to explain to Lahabrea and Five how you were flattened into a pancake.
He almost has it wide enough for someone to slip through. Once he can get an arm between them, it becomes much easier, he can get a better grip. And finally, all at once, he manages to shove the one side open and stands against the wall to keep it from sliding shut again. He hunkers down over his knees, catching his breath and stretching his limbs.]
[He's going to do his best to not even scratch it.
The elevator does whir itself to life, and it is programmed to go to the floor most used --- the bottom floor. As soon as it starts to descend, he'll active "But Not For Me" and it will reverse, ascending instead. Fancy that. He should really thank Lahabrea for purchasing that for his point poor self.
Now that does make the act of reaching the landing easier, but getting off at the right stop is still going to be a challenge. Thank goodness Vergil got a full door open. He'd never be able to pull this off if the opening was squeezing room only.
Luckily it is not going very fast once it gets to the now open door, but Vergil is still sitting there and he only has a short time window to make his jump. Hmmm. That probably means he's taking Vergil with him as he times getting off the elevator and plows through the entrance.]
He is not expecting to just get bowled over, and his eyes widen when he realised what's about to happen. But it's too late to get out of the way, and the alarm is ringing, trying to push the door closed again so he really can't move anyway. So there he goes, football tackled.
Here's at least to hoping no one gets a limb caught in the door.]
[Probably some bumps and bruises as metal is not one to give, but no missing limbs or broken bones. Delightful. They probably do end up in a bit of a tangle considering the time window as the elevator rushes up behind them and then down abruptly getting out of range of BARiTONES ability.

[He's definitely had moments in life where he thought he was fine and then looked down and realised there was a sword in his gut. So he's just, going to check on that situation just in case - no, not bleeding. Besides maybe minor scrapes and cuts. Most definitely some on his legs and hands from climbing the cable.

[It may or may not be amplified...hard to tell where the natural inclination ends and something more begins. Better not to worry about it.

I've made my fair share of mistakes. Though being able to get a new mortal vessel and try again has made living with those mistakes brief at best.
