[Sometimes I miss 99. It is true. Dumb as a brick that one.]
No. I simply assumed we get enough of the macabre during games that you would not seek it out outside of them.
It sounds like a tumulus history if nothing else. And the various descriptions that elude to land makes me think of one that has lost their home.
I don't think it is a real thing, but if you ask the Producers to whip one up for you, I'm sure they will manage. Though there are monsters that are simply mouths and tentacles. Perhaps a distant cousin.
Running into something that's just mouths and tentacles sounds like a story with a not great ending...
[She folds her arms]
...Okay, forget vine monsters. You think the--narrator or whoever lost their home? So...maybe they're trying to go someplace else...trying to get somebody else to let 'em in...?
Don't you get a sense of regret and helplessness from it. Though at least the character in the poem is educated it appears. So perhaps a lament of being seen as lesser even though they were not treated as such. For I do not think this is the cause of a natural plight, but a man made one.
Do you mind if I make a copy of it then? Vergil and Lily are better versed in poems than I.
[He laughs.]
So I have been told. But never once have I been contacted by any of the Producers. I know Eichi and Paloma had some dealings as well as Absinthe. But it appears us 'younger' ones are left to our own devices.
Well--okay, then, cool. Let me know if they come up with anything, I guess.
[scratches at her nose]
And huh, didn't know it was that easy of a gig. It always came off like Azzy needed all the help he could get...maybe he got bummed nobody broke into his shitty ghost house this year.
'Twas interesting. When I first arrived I heard that auditions had some sort of stigma due to their connection to that man. Do you feel that is still the case?
...Depends. Before it felt like he was actively out to get the rest of us. So you guys what had an in were the enemy, y'know?
You--you specifically--I don't think you'd screw us over just 'cause he said to. Maybe if you had some reason of your own, but I figure you'd at least say so if you did.
...Plus, now it seems like Az was all talk to begin with, so any auditions can be mistrusted on their own skeevy merits.
I see no reason to cause harm if none is warranted. I enjoy a good fictional violence through a play, but I also enjoy shaking the actors hands after the performance. Otherwise, I'd be rather docile in front of a fireplace for the rest of my life.
I have no qualms with any of the other stars. Though for the sake of honesty if it would result in my wish -- the reason why I'm here -- I would betray even BARiTONES. I would not enjoy it, but reality is not always so kind. Luckily the Production does not need that of me or any of the other auditions.
But I would wager you know the hosts better than most auditions, as well as the inner workings of the Production. I do applaud your tenacity.
Well, I doubt they want to mingle with anyone. I just assumed your tenure would give your more insight. Much like it would for Cardinal. They seemed to be more active in the days of old.
[He shrugs.]
I see no benefit. I get a wish upon graduation just by being in the Production. Paloma, Ruby, Absinthe have all proven this. What else does he have to offer me?
I dunno. I mean, the wish goes hand in hand with being bound to those guys forever, right? ...Seems like knowing the guy could maybe help you get a better deal.
Oh, do not worry. If Absinthe does not wish to tell me, he simply will dance around it. Such is our relationship. It will not put a strain on anything.
Though I must ask. What do you want from the Production?
Re: day 385ish
I can't tell if the love poem thing is supposed to be an insult...
...But--yeah, maybe? You think so? What even is a "vine rivulet"...?

Re: day 385ish
Why this book if I might ask.
Re: day 385ish
[Considers this as he asks his question]
Just searching for some verse somebody referenced, to see what it meant... This's what came up.
...I mean, not all of us got a job like you do, so we gotta keep busy how we can.
Re: day 385ish
[He can't help but laugh.]
If lounging about is considered a job, then I am rather skilled at it. Unless you were referring to my audition status.
Re: day 385ish
Yeah. I mean, don't you gotta do errands, or do you got quotas or something?

Re: day 385ish
And for real? How're you gonna climb the corporate ladder if the boss don't even know you're alive?
Re: day 385ish
[He can't help but laugh.]
I do wholeheartedly agree. Perhaps Paloma and Ruby will introduce me to some of their associates in Hell if I asked nicely. But I am ever patient.

Re: day 385ish
I dunno about me knowing nothing, though. Hosts and producers don't wanna hang out with me. I'm as lost as any scrub.
[A pause]
You really ain't gonna do nothing to try and meet Azzy, make him uphold his sort of the bargain or whatever?
