... Five.

A few /normal/ nightmares aren’t going to make things worse for me.

And I don’t want you to be alone.

I worry I would drag you into my nightmares. And not the tamer ones.

[ he'll reach over to take his hand ]

And we'll handle those together. It is just nightmares, Hades. As much as I don't want you to experience those again and again, like I said. I don't want you to be alone in there.

[He stares at their joined hands for a moment in deep thought before lacing their fingers.]

Lahabrea asked the same. I could not bear him to witness it as I did. Such a feeling I have for you.

And it warms my heart that you would offer to the depths I cannot express. To have you by my side. To know that you would protect me. It's just ....

... even if it is rare and unlikely to even manifest, this memory, this despair, I wish it to live and die with me.

If we are to share everything together that means the good and the bad. Even despair. I understand you don't want anyone else to see. Especially Lahabrea. But you should never have dealt with it alone and you should not deal with it alone now.

I'm here with you. No matter how ugly it'll get.

And if it breaks you, Five Hargreeves? As it did me.

[ he understands the worry, but on the other hand ... ]

It won't. Not when I have you there with me.

I think you overestimate my usefulness in the situation.

[He huffs.]

But in the end, I truly cannot deny you anything. Not even this. And I will feel terribly foolish, yet exceedingly grateful, if I spout all this worry and no bad dreams are to be found this night.

You don't need to do anything useful. I simply need you by my side, and I will take care of you.

[ he'll squeeze his hand again]

But if no bad dreams appear, that's certainly better.

How exceedingly reasonable.

[He squeezes back and lifts his head enough to kiss him softly on the temple.]

Rest then. I will stay with you.

I know it's a little depressing but, well.

I love you so much, I would be ready to witness a thousand worlds ends just for the chance to help you. To be with you.

[He runs the back of his fingers across his cheek completely charmed despite the topic.]

Well I will strive to keep that at a minimum. No more than ten and three reflections. Half already being complete.

[He takes his hand back so he can hold him tightly]

[ that's fine with him and he will wrap his arms around him and hold him, resting against him and definitely relaxing into it ]

[And with Five so close to him, he will soon fall asleep. And he will seek him out in his dreams. He imagines they are desolate landscapes, but hey, maybe Five's mind is changing it up!]

[ no of course it's desolate landscapes, his mind is very one-note like that!! But once he finds him he will immediately walk up to him ]

Well ... so far so good.

[He takes both hands into his own. It is obvious by the way he shifts that he is nervous, wary, and maybe a touch terrified. If he were a cat, his tail would be poofed up.]

If it were constant, I would have warned you. Now, what to make this into?

[He considers for a moment and then the scenery does change to the garden that Caeli made for him. An almost exact replica with the soil still soft from the flowers they had planted. Though as the change is occurring there is a white noise in the distance, quite faint. The sound of clinking glass.]

You'll have to excuse me if I am a little rusty.

[ the scenery is beautiful, but he recognizes the noise, and he's of course worried. He'll reach over for his face, a hand on each cheek as he strokes them lightly ]

Focus on me. Don't worry about anything else.

[He breathes deeply and closes his eyes. He places his hands on top of Five's to focus on them.]

I feel ridiculous.

This is just a small setback. Nothing to feel ashamed of.

[He huffs. His form of an answer as he wraps his arms around him and tucks his head under his chin.

And then he does dig his aetheric fingers deep into his soul as an anchor of sorts.]

[ There's a little gasp at that but he's not opposed to it, just surprised. He'll bring his arm around his shoulders clutch at his clothes, holding himself against him a little more physically ]

That works too.

[He smug at getting that sort of a reaction. And though he tries not to, he does hold onto his soul tightly.]

[ and he will try to reach for his soul as well - soft, gentle aetheric touches ]

[He smiles at the feeling. The feeling of being warm, loved and protected.]

[And he tilts his head down so he can kiss his lips softly.]
