... We had a nice chat. And he told me about his time wandering alone with no one to hear him until he met your hero. So obviously I ended up sympathizing with him.
A truly unique predicament. Though not unheard of. Giving up one’s flesh to travel between shards is always risky. I believe he did anyway. I was resting at the time.
But I imagine the Hero was able to see him because he was a part of their soul.
... Are you sure you don't want to get drunk with me after all? I'm up for changing my mind on the whole company is enough stance, if you feel like it.
I will get drunk if you would like to be drunk together, but I hardly need to. I’ve seen their scattered existence thousands of times. ‘Tis not a new experience.
[He kisses the top of his head.]
Will you get along with him, I wonder? Regardless, he doesn’t remember me anyway. He can not.
[ He's thought about it before, how it must have felt for Emet to face a shard of someone he once loved, over and over again. But it's one thing to think about it and see it happen. New or not, well ... ]
I can't imagine it's pleasant regardless.
I've already said I'm going to kill and bury him where no one else can find him before he can make good on that deal of his if I have reason to believe he'll make things difficult for you.
But I'll admit he made a good impression and I've enjoyed his company. He said he would have done the same in your shoes. And seems willing to cooperate.
I gave him your idea actually. Different timelines to be divided between us. Perhaps a world where two identical stars existed. One fractured. One not.
Ever have they been hopeful. And ever do I hope for them.
But Azem alone cannot be the example for the shard. They would need to ban together to make that which is worthwhile. I believe that is why Cardinal’s star is the way it is. There are those that care passionately, but not enough. Not the whole.
And besides.
[He takes his hands and brings one up to kiss the knuckles.]
I have a new hope. Just in case you didn’t understand the weight of your importance to me.
But do enjoy his company. I think your life would be enriched for it. Even if you have to bury him in the end. For which all you need is ask for assistance.
I don’t know. I’ve been at a rather low place recently. I don’t think I’ve really thought it through yet.
[He squeezes his fingers.]
But it is A problem I will tackle in the morrow. He seems rather eager to find a better path. At least I do not need to fight him on that.
Truthfully, their shards and even Hythlodaeus’ shards I’ve dealt with quite a few times over. If there is worry to be had, I would be more concerned for you, Klaus, and Luther.
And I thought the drinking was the distraction to which I will get you another.
[And he will mix him another strong drink.]
But I will enjoy Ardbert’s company why he is still here. It would be impossible not to. And I do feel for him. Being isolated in such a manner should never happen to anyone.
And now that Gaia is here I wonder if Mitron will follow. And if he will be horribly upset that I left him as the original Sin Eater.
...That's all new backstory to me so you're going to have to explain.
[ He said he's not going to get pass out drunk in the end, but another drink is fine surely. So he'll keep one arm around him but he will reach for the drink to sip on it ]
Mitron was another member of the Convocation if I recall. But what is that about you leaving him as the original Sin Eater?
Well. You could use a story that pertains slightly to those recently arrived without being too close to home. A distraction, correct?
[He runs his back as he speaks. More in a soothing gesture for himself than anything.]
Tipping a shard towards Ardor is more precise work that I believe the fractured souls appreciate. Ardbert and his companions were given the task of defeating creature after darkness creature. Gaia and Mitron were the two Convocation members watching over the First. But those two were rather attached at the hip. Hardly seen apart from each other.
The darkness aspect of the first we did concentrate into a single being. An enticing enemy for those heroes. Though we did not expect them to turn their blades nor kill successfully kill Gaia and then the gathered darkness. When they destroyed the creature a wave of light erupted over the land nearly out of our control.
Re: day 355
That you can fix.
Re: day 355
You're not suggesting I give him points for memories.
Are you?
Re: day 355
The trick will be not making it a wasted investment. And if he is interested.
Re: day 355
[ but. it's true. he wants answer and that could provide them ]
This is a terrible idea.
Re: day 355
I could help. It seems important.
Re: day 355
And I don't even know how much I can afford to give him.
Re: day 355
An opportunity then. To take or not is your choice, but I for one am fond of having options.
Though I’m not certain if he can give you a satisfactory answer.
Re: day 355
Thank you.
... There is another matter I wanted to ask you about. I met Ardbert.
Re: day 355
[He seems to be caught off guard.]
How did you—— never mind. I was going to tell you tomorrow, your father’s appearance taking precedence.
[Also the magic number is 5000 points for Five]
Re: day 355
I had a drink in his company as well. He recognized the earring and our connection came up.
Are you all right?
Re: day 355
It’s complicated. Not the answer you want to here I imagine. But whenever the soul with that color arrives it truly is the only answer.
Re: day 355
And what is special about his soul color, exactly? I would have assumed things were complicated because, well. He's here and has made a deal.
Re: day 355
First, being a shard aside, what did you think of them?
Re: day 355
Re: day 355

Will you really be fine?

Things do feel more difficult lately. But, well. Keep in mind that just like you're here to lift me up, I'm also here to do the same for you.
