[After some amount of time the scenery will change to a dark purple space. A clean canvas. Emet will rise dusting off his robes.

Hythlodeaus can stay as a long boi. Though if he does try he can change his form to whatever he wishes.]

[He'll vibe as a long boi for a little while more, but then change to his usual form - albeit wearing the amaurotine robes from the memory. A blast from the past!]

You don't find such scenery a little gloomy?

It is up to you to shape it as you remember. The power of dreams is your as is your sight. Though you might need to make adjustments to have it be as sharp as you remember.

Ah, yes. The sight was the one area I was above you, yes?

[Joking aside, though, he turns around and concentrates, calling up the recent memory. The scenery wavers, shaping itself until the rolling fields of Elpis are under their feet, the paths of stone unwinding around the edge, trees sprouting up and coming into bloom. In the distance not far from them, the figures from the memory come into view: Hythlodaeus himself sitting next to the indistinct shape of someone else, Hades on his mount up in the air, Hermes and Meteion watching them from the ground (not that Hythlodaeus himself remembers the names, of course).]

Well... How's that?

The most prominent but not the only area.

[For a moment he closes his eyes taking in the feel, the smell of it, the sound of the wind and other ambient noises. When he opens them he doesn't even look at the figures, but at the scenery. At the world he so desperately tries to remember.]

That will do.

[Levity smiles, giving his friend time to enjoy being somewhere that's so close to home. He does still have a bomb to drop, but it can wait.]

[Pointing at the figures - they seem to be frozen in time while Levity isn't paying much attention to them.]

While I do not remember this, there is more that I have forgotten than I care to admit.

This might be... particularly irregular.

[He sighs, pointing at the one indistinct shape sitting next to the image of Hythlodaeus.]

I am informed that is the Warrior of Light. I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how this would come to pass.

That simply isn't possible.

That was what I said, but Alphinaud seemed very insistent. And said that that wouldn't be the first time they've achieved something normally impossible.

But if the answer is merely time travel, I thought this a useful fact.

[He's just quite for a long, long time.

Are you not always complaining that you never have points?

There is a divergence and I wish to know why.

If you wish to take so many memories, that is.

Worry not, Hades. If I were to put out a call, I'd have at least several people tripping over their feet to give me enough points to buy enough memories for ten lifetimes.

... I do wish to help, but it would be reckless to take many memories in one go. Though these are pleasant, you know as well as I that darker things await too. Not to mention the effect it has on one's psyche, being thrown back and forth across reality and memory.

I would not put you under undo stress. At whatever pace you like.

What of those two? Are they unfamiliar to you as well?

Hermes. He would take the seat of Fandaniel. That creature ... I feel as if I've seen it before, but there are many wonderous creatures on Elpis.

Hermes... Was I friends with him? That was the feeling I got.

As for the girl... Her aether is awfully thin, do you not find?

[He does try to remember, but he just doesn't.]

I wouldn't be surprised. You had quite a few friends.

It was, but not so unusual. Elpis was a place of experimentation. I'm sure many creatures there had thin aether.

[Oh well, surely the blue-haired bird girl is just a random creation with no lasting consequences! :)]

What is Elpis? All my memories up until now have been of Amaurot.
