[Emet-Selch probably learned early on to give indication when he was going to be out at night. Lahabrea didn't tell him in works exactly, more a nervous twitch or an extra scolding tone when he returned the next day. And considering his corruption, it wasn't hard to put two and two together.
And he doesn't vocally tell him when he plans to not spend the night in BARiTONES, whether it is visiting Taisho or out wandering the midnight hours. No, he leaves things on the table. Usually it is a glass of water and some small snack that will be fine out in the open a few hours. Or sometimes he'll leave a journal open with a pen. But he does leave something, always when he's gone at night until after dawn, a something that denotes that he thought of Lahabrea before heading out.
Luckily, today he has no such plans and upon seeing Lahabrea sprawling over all of the bed, he sits down on the edge and runs fingers through his hair. He doesn't say anything, but simply hums a question.]
